Victorious Vintage

It all started with one bride’s determination to create a wedding unlike any she’d ever been to. A 1940’s style event oozing glamour, with authenticity in every detail from the cocktails to the swing band, Mel Jarron’s wedding was truly a day to remember, not just because she “fell in love all over again” but also because it inspired her to create the Vintage Wedding Fair. With a move away from formulaic parent-planned weddings, bringing in the vintage experts is the latest way to add real originality to your day, and the Fair provides the perfect showcase for those wedding suppliers and specialists who appreciate the style and glamour of vintage.

This fabulous event takes place on 4th November 2012 at Mansfield Traquair, a vintage setting if ever there was one, and is an Aladdin’s cave of everything from original bridal gowns from the 1930s to pretty, old-fashioned china and even classic cars and period hair and make-up experts.

So for advice on creating the perfect beehive updo, sourcing that original necklace (you know, the one you can’t find anywhere) or picking up ideas on delicious retro menus (remember the cheese & pineapple cubes on cocktail sticks artistically arranged in a foil-wrapped baked potato? Well we don’t mean that). Whether it’s Poirot and the English Riveria you’re after or Mad Men and 1950s Madison Avenue, we defy you not to find everything you need at Mansfield Traquair on  4th November 2012.

Oh, and the live music and (G&) Tea Party will undoubtedly help everything go with a swing. Make sure the groom puts the date into his genuine RAF logbook now.
